Meet Our Staff
Angelia
Angelia has worked in the dental field as a hygienist since 2003. Even as a child, she knew that dentistry was the career for her. She has been a part of this practice since 2012 and her laugh readily puts patients at ease. Angelia and her husband, Gary, call Hayden their home. Together they have three children and one grandson. Time with family takes top priority in Angelia’s life—and if that time together happens in the form of a beach trip, life is very near perfect! She is so enjoying her role as “GiGi.” Angelia is the biggest (and loudest) fan of her sons and strives NEVER to miss their basketball games.
Megan
Megan has worked as a dental hygienist for the past 9 years, after detouring from a civil service job. Patients greatly appreciate both her excellent listening skills and her teaching abilities in the finer points of brushing, flossing and Listerine. A “born and raised here” ‘Bama girl, she married her high school sweetheart, Tim. They share a home with their dog, “Abby.” Megan’s quiet hobbies include crochet and cross stitch. She also has an adventurous spirit, “I love a good road trip!” -- and she manages to squeeze in the occasional concert along the way.
Gena
Gena has 20 years of experience in the dental field – 17 of them as a hygienist (so she’s polished a few teeth!) She is a lifelong Birmingham-area resident, and rather than sports – is a big “fan” of family. She loves most spending time with her husband and 2 very active daughters. Gena is a member of Hope Church in Gardendale and volunteers in Kids Kingdom Consignment. When not wielding a toothbrush, she may instead be found holding a mic, singing with the praise band at church.
Allison
Allison has faithfully spent the past 17 years right here, assisting Dr. Cunningham. Her knowledgeable, calming spirit is greatly appreciated by our patients (as well as all of her fellow team members)! She loves riding “ANYWHERE” on the Harley with her husband Matthew. They are proud parents of one sassy toddler, who already loves motorcycle riding with her dad! Completing their happy family is a fluffy Maltese, who answers to “Douglas.”
Kendall
Kendall joined our practice as an assistant, bringing her first year of experience to our team. When not chairside, she volunteers with GFBC Sports Ministry – relying on 4 years of high school volleyball to teach others the sport. She’s a member of Beechwood Baptist Church. Her family has influenced her giving spirit by fostering for 8 years. A dog named “Luna” and a cat named “Mallie” are also part of her crew. Happy places to spend time with family & friends include: college football games, anywhere tropical, and Disney World. As a child, Kendall thought when she grew up, she would become a math teacher. To sum it all up: we count it an added blessing to have her here!
Kara
Kara is our financial coordinator. Although she has 24 years of experience in insurance and dentistry—her childhood dreams were to be a rock star OR a veterinarian. Born in Tampa, Florida with travel in her veins: Italy was a favorite destination and she hopes one day to visit the Holy Land. She has made her home with husband, Kevin, in Hayden. They are pet parents to 4 spoiled fur babies: “Lola”, “Astrid”, "Sadie" and “Penny Jolene.” Kara has a heart for her church and shares her faith in Christ both as a children’s Sunday School teacher and through music in choir and praise team. Fun Fact: Kara auditioned for both American Idol and The Voice.
Jennifer
Jennifer is our scheduling coordinator and has 20 years of pediatric dental experience under her toothbrush. Her desire is to daily show the love of Jesus in all areas of her life. She and husband Timothy enjoy time with family and friends, live music, and being “anywhere there is sunshine and water.” Their family includes 2 adult daughters and a busy grandson. Jennifer enjoys Alabama football, “ROLL TIDE!”
Karah
Karah has been a hygienist for 4 years. She has a very positive attitude and loves meeting new people. Her goal is to help people not only feel great about their smile, but help them feel comfortable and confident as well! She currently resides in Dora with her cat. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
